A ‘Fresh’ Take

The Thanksgiving episode of “Fresh Off the Boat,” which is now in its fourth season, was screened Nov. 7 at East West Players in Little Tokyo.

The post-screening Q&A featured (from right) ABC 7’s David Ono, moderator; cast members Hudson Yang (Eddie Huang), Forrest Wheeler (Emery Huang) and Ian Chen (Evan Huang); Cindy Fang, writer; and Laura McCreary, co-executive producer.

The episode, which aired Nov. 14, guest-starred George Takei as an overbearing ESL teacher who has his eye on Grandma Huang (Lucille Soong). The series airs Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. on ABC.

Sponsored by Disney XD, ABC, Asian Pacific American Media Coalition and EWP, the evening also included a screening of Disney’s “Big Hero 6: The Series,” based on the 2014 movie, and a talk with cast and crew members. The show will premiere Nov. 20 on Disney Channel and Disney XD.
