Free Family Fun
The Japanese American National Museum’s monthly Free Family Day was held on Oct. 10. Performers included Em Is for Music (pictured), shown playing a song inspired by the children’s book “Are We There, Yeti?” by Ashlyn Anstee. Award-winning children’s book author/illustrator Allen Say (pictured) discussed and signed copies of his graphic novel “The Inker’s Shadow,” which recounts his days at a military academy. Other participants included Balloon Monsoon, Kidding Around the Kitchen, author Kieren van den Blink (“Yum”), Kitchen Kid, and Hope Gardens. This month’s event had a green/sustainability theme.
