GENIE’S LAMP: A New World Sings
By GENIE NAKANO
the train lost speed and just plain stopped no brakes needed natural as the green grass on the other side of the fence
the cow jumped over a cheesy moon spilled milk everywhere lunatics started dodging silver bullets
deep in the forest things settle into a snooze while cities blare a new kind of music you’ve got to hear it…
no, I can’t explain nor dance it either you just have to be here feel the new formed rhythm with a universal beat
can’t stream or dream it has to be in real time right now, right now step right up… and let a new world sing
clickity clack the train picks up the beat just like that the train is back on track
Genie Nakano is widely published in journals, and her recent books, Enter the Stream and Storyteller are available on Amazon. She teaches gentle yoga and tanka at the Japanese Cultural Center in Gardena. Genie can be reached by email.
