Halloween Carnival at JCCCNC
SAN FRANCISCO — The Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California and Japanese Community Youth Council present their annual Halloween Carnival will be held on Friday, Oct. 28, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the JCCCNC, 1840 Sutter St. in San Francisco’s Japantown.
Be sure to come dressed in your Halloween best. The costume parade/contest includes prizes for the best in the following categories: cutest costume, scariest costume, most creative costume, best costume overall, and most spirited group/family.
This year’s carnival features the Spooky Onigiri Riceball Decorating Contest, taught by L.A.-based food writer Sonoko Sakai. The fee is $4, which includes two onigiri for each participant. JCCCNC will also be selling copies of Sakai’s latest cookbook, “Rice Craft.”
Also featured are games, crafts, a bounce house, and the Haunted Hallway.
