‘Hidden Legacy’ at Oakland Asian Cultural Center
OAKLAND — “Hidden Legacy” with Shirley Muramoto, a Day of Remembrance film and performance, will be held on Sunday, Feb. 24, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center, 388 9th St. in Oakland Chinatown.

Muramoto, an accomplished koto master and the film’s creative director, will perform with Brian Wong (shakuhachi and shamisen) and dancer Bando Hiroshichiro (aka Nakamura Gankyo), the first from outside of Japan to be accepted into the kabuki world in its over-400-year tradition.
Discussion and Q&A to follow. Special guest: Rev. Michael Endo of Buddhist Church of Oakland, which is co-presenting the event.
