J-Pop Weekend


Japan Expo LA marked its 30th anniversary on Oct. 17 and 18 at the Los Angeles Convention Center with several guest performers from Japan, including soul singer Ayako Monobe (above, center), also known as Ahya.


Performers signed autographs at their respective booths. Roli Angels are shown greeting fans.


Raion, an “enka rock” group featuring the “Kabuki Beast of Rock ’n’ Roll.”


The singers of Jeanist also served as representatives of Okayama.


Eri Osanai sings with Japan Expo’s theme, “Omotenashi,” as the backdrop.


Two of the five members of Parallel Dream performed.


Fans showed their love during the show.

The lineup also featured Cube, Sizuku, Yukiko Haneda, Linkstars, Rio Hiiragi, 564, Cheeky Parade, Jaweye, Solidemo, a Naruto character show, and stunt action shows by Samuride and Burai. Booths offered both traditional and contemporary Japanese goods.
