• Ukulele and Hula Dance on Monday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. at Ford Theatres. Whether you want to learn the graceful gestures of the hula, or play some island songs on your ukulele, Jason Arimoto will lead the way in a Hawaiian island celebration like no other. Ukuleles will be provided.

• Japanese Folk Dance as part of the City of San Fernando’s Chile Festival on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. at San Fernando Mall, 900 San Fernando Rd. in San Fernando.

Discover the beauty and grace of Japanese festival dancing with San Fernando local Christine Inouye. Seize the moment and try your hand at these celebratory Bon dances set to ondo music by Japanese folk fusion ensemble Minyo Station.

For both events, wear comfortable clothes and shoes. JAM Sessions are participatory and centered around movement and music. All JAMs are free, and all ages and skill levels are welcome.
