“Blindly in Love” (2013, 117 minutes), directed by Masahide Ichii, will be screened on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. at the Japan Foundation Los Angeles Auditorium, 5700 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 100, in Los Angeles.

In this warm-hearted love story that gained popularity through word of mouth, city hall employee Kentaro (Gen Hoshino), a clumsy and introverted 35-year-old virgin, is terrible when it comes to socializing. Unable to make friends, he spends his days just going back and forth between home and his workplace. His worried parents participate in a matchmaking event where the parents act as envoys. There, a marriage meeting is set up with Naoko (Kaho), a blind girl.

In Japanese with English subtitles. Free to attend. Reservation is not required. Street parking is available. For more information, call (323) 761-7510 or visit www.jflalc.org.
