‘Mele Murals’ Screening in San Jose

SAN JOSE — CAAMFest San Jose 216 presents “Mele Murals” on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m. at Camera 3 Cinema, 288 S. 2nd St. in San Jose.

The special guest will be director/editor Tadashi Nakamura (“Jake Shimabukuro: Life on Four Strings,” “A Song for Ourselves,” “Pilgrimage,” “Yellow Brotherhood”).

In this documentary, artists Estria Miyashiro and John “Prime” Hina travel to the rural town of Waimea, Hawaii, where they attempt to connect ancient Hawaiian traditions and graffiti with the youth of tomorrow.

Followed by after party at 9 p.m. at Nomikai, 48 S. 1st St.

Free admission. Co-presented by J-Town Film Fest San Jose and Contemporary Asian Theater Scene (CATS).
