Mountain View Obon This Weekend

MOUNTAIN VIEW — Mountain View Buddhist Temple, 575 N. Shoreline blvd. in Mountain View, will hold its 2015 Obon Festival and Bazaar on Saturday, July 18, from 4 to 10 p.m. and Sunday, July 19, from 12 to 9 p.m.

Bon Odori will start at 7 p.m. on Sunday. The last odori practice will be held on Thursday, July 16, at 7:30 p.m.

The popular event will feature food and beverages with sit-down dining in Sangha Hall, entertainment, cultural displays, a flower shop, bookstore and crafts, game booths and bingo.

Saturday, July 18

4:30 p.m. — Mountain View Buddhist Temple Taiko (Yagura)

6 p.m. — Jun Daiko (Yagura)

8 p.m. — “Maui style” Bon Odori (Yagura)

Sunday, July 19

12:30 p.m. — MVBT Taiko (Yagura)

1:30 p.m. — Hands-on taiko (Kodomo Zone)

1:45 p.m. — Jazz Ensemble (Roka Awning)

3:30 p.m. — Jun Daiko (Yagura)

6:30 p.m. — Chidori Band (Yagura)

7 p.m. — Bon Odori, followed by raffle drawing (Yagura)
