Nobuyuki Tsujii Piano Recital at the Aratani

The Japanese American Cultural and Community Center, in partnership with the Japan America Society, presents a piano recital by Nobuyuki Tsujii on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 8 p.m. at the Aratani Theatre, 244 S. San Pedro St. in Little Tokyo.
Blind since birth, Tsujii was a joint gold medal winner at the 2009 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. An inspirational musician with a formidable technique and a natural gift for pianistic color, he has earned international recognition for the passion and excitement he brings to his live performances.
As a concerto soloist he has appeared with, among others, the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra and Valery Gergiev, the Philharmonia Orchestra and Vladimir Ashkenazy, the BBC Philharmonic with both Juanjo Mena and Yutaka Sado, the Seattle Symphony under Stilian Kirov, and the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana with Thierry Fischer.
