NorCal Soy and Tofu Festival on June 4
Vendors will offer a variety of soy and tofu products.
SAN FRANCISCO — The sixth annual Northern California Soy and Tofu Festival will be held Saturday, June 4, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Event Center at St. Mary’s Cathedral, 1111 Gough St. (at Geary Boulevard) near San Francisco’s Japantown.
Hosted at a new venue this year, this exciting culinary and cultural event showcases soy and tofu vendors, provides an educational forum on the various uses and benefits of soy and tofu, offers live music and cultural entertainment, interactive games and tofu eating contests, children’s activities, and a raffle, and culminates with the Soy and Tofu Dessert Competition.
The mission of the Northern California Soy and Tofu Festival is to educate the public about the health benefits and various uses of soy and tofu. In adhering to these goals, the Northern California Soy and Tofu Festival — an annual fundraiser for the Nichi Bei Foundation — strives to be a vehicle for community-building and leadership development while adhering to the foundation’s mission of keeping the community connected, informed and empowered.
Performers will include San Jose Taiko, Murasaki Ensemble Trio, Cynthin Lin and the Blue Moon All-Stars, College Fund Street Band, Curt Yagi and the People Standing Behind Me, Crywolffs, and more.
Admission is $10 in advance, $15 at the door, free for children 10 and under. A free tote bag will be given to the first 500 in attendance.
A free shuttle will be provided from the Peace Plaza at Post and Buchanan in Japantown.
