Romeros, Daniel Ho at the Aratani on Sept. 16
The Romeros, “The Royal Family of Classical Guitar,” will perform for the first time on the Aratani Theatre stage, and a new collaboration between classical guitar and ukulele with masters Pepe Romero and Daniel Ho, “Aloha España,” will make its debut.
Fans of both traditional and contemporary expressions in classical guitar will be delighted by the range of music and mastery presented in this concert on Friday, Sept. 16, at 8 p.m. at the Aratani, 244 S. San Pedro St. in Little Tokyo.
Pepe Romero has communicated the richness and beauty of the classical guitar to millions of people throughout the world and has become an ambassador of classical music and of the classical guitar. He is the second son of one of the greatest guitarists that ever lived, Celedonio Romero, and is brother to two more musical phenoms, Celin and Angel Romero.
Ho is a six-time Grammy winning artist (for Hawaiian music), producer, composer, clinician/teacher, and audio engineer, as well as a longtime friend of the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center.
