Share Your E.O. 9066 Story
As the 75th anniversary of the signing of Executive Order 9066 approaches, The Rafu Shimpo is asking readers to share their stories. How did the executive order, which led to the incarceration of more than 110,000 Japanese Americans, impact your life or your family? There remains much ignorance about the real enduring impacts of E.O. 9066 on the lives of those who lived through it. The Rafu hopes that readers will share their stories with the purpose educating the public on this tragic period in our history. We also encourage readers to share their stories online using the hashtag #mystoryEO9066.
The Rafu will publish these stories in an upcoming issue. Word count is 250 to 500 words. Photo submissions are also encouraged. To submit your story, email Gwen Muranaka at gwen@rafu.com by Monday, Feb. 13 or mail The Rafu at 701 E. Third St., Suite 130, Los Angeles CA 90013.
