This One Is for Chester
Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda (center) speaks on behalf of the band as they accepted the favorite alternative rock artist award at the 2017 American Music Awards on Sunday at L.A.’s Microsoft Theatre. Joined by bandmates Rob Bourdon (left) and Brad Delson, Shinoda dedicated the award to lead singer Chester Bennington, who committed suicide in July. “We want to dedicate this award to him, to his memory, to his talent, to his sense of humor, to his joy,” Shinoda said. “Remember, you guys — all of you, tonight — whether you’re a fan or an artist, I want you guys to take a moment to appreciate what you’ve got and make Chester proud,” he concluded.
